Dr. Sharon Risch is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, families and individual adults. She uses integrative, systemic and collaborative perspectives in her work.
Dr. Risch's approach is present-focused yet grounded in an understanding of the ways our past experiences may have contributed to our present difficulties. She uses a range of approaches based on attachment, family systems, cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic models of therapy. Her clinical interests include emotional and behavioral regulation issues, attachment/ relationship issues, and mood and anxiety difficulties.
Dr. Risch earned her BA from the University of Michigan and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee. She completed a residency at Harvard Medical School/ Cambridge Hospital and then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. She also completed a fellowship at The Institute for Psychoanalysis in Chicago. Dr. Risch was a Staff Psychologist and Assistant Director of the Psychological Assessment Program prior to opening her private practice. Dr. Risch maintains an affiliation with The Family Institute at Northwestern University.
Her office is in Chicago, Illinois in the Lakeview neighborhood.
